I write about personal finance only because I’m drawing directly from and mostly speaking from my own experiences. There are so many topics I’d love to share my thoughts on, but whenever I learn more about a topic, I usually learn quickly how little I really know. I’d rather just read and learn more.

Something about this image tugged strongly at my heart.
The woman is saying goodbye to some friends and loved ones who are moving to New Zealand. She likely won’t see them again for a long time.

7. Victory gardens
I miss the concept of victory gardens. The cultural idea that we can help our nation through the simple act of gardening is a wonderful one, and one that applies in peacetime as well as wartime. If you grow your own food, you don’t strain the food systems of the nation.

Eisenhower was one of America’s top generals in the second World War. He still kept war in perspective.
